Last updated: September 2026. Vámonos Amigo is a travel guide to Latin America that is still being built. This page explains what we collect while we get started, and why.

What we collect

• If you join our email list: your email address and preferred language.
• If you share tips about a city: the country and city, how you know it, the places and tips you share, your first name if you give it, your email address, and your answers to the consent questions.

How we use it

• Your tips help us build city guides. We only publish your tips, with your first name, if you checked the box allowing it, and we email you to approve them first.
• We use your email to confirm your tips and, if you opted in, to send Vámonos Amigo updates. You can unsubscribe anytime.
• We don't sell your personal information.

Where it's stored

Your information is stored securely with our database provider and is only accessible to the Vámonos Amigo team.

Your choices

To see, change or delete what you've shared, email hola@vamonosamigo.com and we'll take care of it.

"What's your favorite" answers

When you tell us your favorite place in a guide, we keep your answer and, if you give them, your first name and email. We only show your first name with your answer if you tick the box, and we never share your email.

My trip

Places you save with "Save" are kept in your own browser on this device. We don't receive them, and clearing your browser data removes them.

Booking partners

"Check availability" and "Search hotels" buttons, and the hotel map on city pages, take you to travel companies we partner with. Once you're on their site, their privacy policies apply. Before sending you there, we record which page and section the click came from, the country and city, and an anonymous number for your browser, so we can see which parts of the guide help people. We don't share your email or your tips with them. See how we make money.
