Cabo Polonio

Where should I stay?

Where should I eat?

  • La Perla del Cabo · Playa Sur · Seafood: A long-running beachfront inn restaurant serving fresh fish and seafood with the ocean just outside the windows.

What should I do?

  • Faro de Cabo Polonio · Punta del Cabo: The 1881 lighthouse on the point can be climbed for a small fee for views over the village, dunes and islands.
  • Playa Sur · Playa Sur: The village's main beach, with fishing boats, rustic houses and calmer water on many days.
  • Playa de la Calavera · Playa Norte: The long, wild north beach stretching toward Valizas, good for long walks and wide open horizons.
  • Parque Nacional Cabo Polonio · Rocha: The protected area of shifting dunes, coastal forest and beaches surrounding the village, great for hiking.
  • 4x4 truck ride across the dunes · Puerto de los Botes (Ruta 10): Open-top trucks from the park entrance terminal carry visitors over the dunes, the only motorized way into the car-free village.
  • Stargazing in the village · Cabo Polonio: With almost no public electricity, the night sky over the village is exceptionally dark and full of stars.
